Our customers wanted to build a master suite retreat. The challenge was to keep the new addition to appear separate from the home in its own way. This was accomplished with a breezeway, which consists of a new office with a connecting walk out patio covered with a trellis. The new master suite features a large walk-in closet with laundry, and a master bathroom with a walk-in shower, soaking tub, and his/ her vanities. Underneath the master suite, we built a new tuck under garage, with a workshop, for their boat. The flat roof on the breezeway was designed for rainwater to be collected and to provide irrigation for the landscaping below. |

For this project, we tore down a small garage and an attached patio. Our customer wanted to build a larger garage to be consistent with the design of his period style home. Also, a new terrace, retaining walls, and landscaping (TerraVista Landscape/Design) were added. New fill was brought in to keep the garage at the same grade as the home. The new two tiered retaining walls compensated the 5’ height difference from the rear yard. Low maintenance shrubs and trees were planted for a natural setting. |
