D.T. Carlson Co. is family run and operated. It is led by Dan Carlson, who guides each customer through the building process, from presenting and creating the custom floor plan, to the final completion of their home. We are a small company passionately committed to building homes that our customers will cherish forever.

We build in the Twin Cities' metropolitan area, in both strong architectural approved new neighborhoods and on scattered lots.

Our customers can choose to build on one of our lots (subject to availability), build on their own lot, or, as a third possibility, we can search for and find a lot in their preferred location.

Each of our custom built homes is filled with character and charm. These homes often set the standards in new developments, or blend naturally into the settings of distinguished neighborhoods and their environments.

We build just five to seven homes per year. As such, Dan can be on the job site each day guiding the craftsmanship and exquisite detailing throughout each home.
